You want to

Does This Sound Familiar?

  • You’re struggling to find balance between your tech career and raising a family
  • You can’t break through the glass ceiling and need advice to up your game for your next promotion
  • You feel isolated as if no one understands your challenges and it’s difficult to find and connect with other tech moms on your level who are going through the same thing
  • You feel stretched too thin and mediocre at everything from saying “yes” way too often in an effort to prove that you can do it all
  • You feel stuck in your current role, but are afraid to give up your flexible work arrangements

If it does, you are not alone.

Most of us have felt this way.

That’s what Inspired Me to Build This Place

There are tons of resources out there to help you transition into motherhood, but there’s hardly anything out there to help you transition into working motherhood especially in a male-dominated, fast-paced industry like tech. It gets even harder when transitioning into leadership roles and climbing the ladder.

  • Some companies provide training and development to employees and managers, but its generic and not tailored for the unique challenges of working moms
  • Facebook Mom groups have their place in the world, but it’s mostly talk about hiring nannies, scheduling play dates, and comparing milestones instead of real talk about career progression and balancing it all
  • Hiring a high-impact executive coach with real tech leadership experience who won’t provide generic advice is out of reach for many. The last pitch I received was $15k for a 6-month program from someone who worked in corporate America 20 years ago.

Thus, Tech Mom Collective was born to help us connect and share best practices to solve these challenges together!

Tech Mom Success Path

Our step-by-step guide takes you through the foundational skill sets you need to thrive in your tech career without burning out. Each month we drop new courses, templates, and content to guide you along the success path.

Step 1: Build Your Community

available immediately

Our private community is the foundation of our membership to help you connect with and receive support from tech moms who get what you are going through. You’ll get access to it right away. Aside from our Tech Mom Community, we’ll drop courses to help you build the rest of your community like your professional network, mentors, and sponsors.

Step 2: Manage Burnout

available immediately

Proactively managing burnout is one of the most fundamental skillsets you need to be successful as a mom in tech. We’ll walk you through how to identify your own personal signs of burnout, what academic research says causes it, and practical solutions to manage and prevent it. We’ll also provide you with a framework to help you answer the question, “should I find a new job?”

Step 3: Master Crucial Conversations

month two

As women in a male-dominated industry and societal pressures of working moms, you must master crucial conversations. Your male colleague just presented your work as their own to the leadership team. You are struggling to keep up with work and closed schools due to the pandemic and need more flexibility. Your spouse isn’t pulling their fair share of the household and childcare workload. All of these scenarios require you to have crucial conversations (this course work is based on the famous book).

Step 4: Map Your Career Path

month three

We’ll help you get crystal clear on what your aspirations are during this time of your life, and we’ll provide training and templates to help you map your career path to get there. We’ll share what has worked for us to get to the next level on the career ladder and provide guidance on finding a mom-friendly role.

Step 5: Focus on Big Impact

month four

If you are drowning in busywork with a to do list a mile long, you aren’t going to be seen as a strategic leader to get in the next level of your career. Even if your desire isn’t moving up into a management role, focusing on the big needle movers that are important to your boss will help you get your next raise. If you aren’t constantly challenging the status quo to weed out unimportant work, you’re wasting time on doing the things that won’t matter for your career, your team, and your company.

Step 6: Establish Your Brand

month five

We’ll work on documenting your values, strengths, and differentiation and connecting them to your “why.” You’ll learn to communicate your impact in a way that stands out, establish yourself as a thought leader in your field, and be seen as more strategic to help you get that next promotion.

Step 7: Lead with Authenticity

month six

You’ll see Brene Brown goodness throughout this section as we cover embracing vulnerability, speaking your truth, and feeling comfortable bringing your whole self to work. We’ll also provide guidance on leading without authority, communicating your why, and inspiring your team.

Step 8: Inspire Your Kids

month seven

This coursework centers around best practices to instill a growth mindset in your kids. Every working mom wants to set a good example for their kids to pursue their dreams, but it’s also important to demonstrate resilience by letting them see you fail and get back up again. We’ll showcase examples of tech moms doing exactly that to give you inspiration.

Executive Track: Scale your Team

bonus content, new membership tier pending

This is the topic we’re most passionate about due to our background leading departments, strategy, and planning. Get access to the coursework we release on our ADVOCATE management framework before we launch our new executive membership tier.

Tap into our 10+ years experience in the tech industry with a proven track record of leading departments and hear from outside tech career experts we carefully select and invite to speak to our members.

My Story

I’m Chas, a mom of 2 curious preschoolers in Austin, Texas. I’ve built a thriving career in tech leading strategy, product, and marketing teams at Fortune tech companies for the last decade.

My passion for helping other tech moms came after a big promotion to lead a division for an industry-leading cybersecurity company, while also trying to navigate a new baby and a toddler at home.

I failed to scale myself at home and in the office in a sustainable way because I didn’t set firm boundaries. I was trying to prove I could do it all. I burned out and nearly quit working altogether. I was almost one of the statistics above.

Since hitting that wall, I’ve recovered and gone on to be ranked in the top 5% of people leaders at a Fortune 50 company with over 150K employees.

I want to connect with you and share stories without judgment, learn about the unique and powerful gifts you bring to an industry that so desperately needs it, and work together to help you achieve your career goals and scale yourself as a leader without burning out.

Still have questions?

What do you consider a “mom in tech”?

We consider you a tech mom if you work for a tech company (fintech, healthcare tech, e-commerce, etc) even if you aren’t in a technical role. You’re also a tech mom if you work in a technical role at a non-tech company or if you work for an agency that provides services to tech companies. Have a tech-based company, business, or startup? You’re a tech mom. Come join the community!

I want to get into tech, is this community for me?

We are considering building courses outside of this membership for moms who want to transition into tech, but you may still find value in this community to get a real life perspective inside the lives of moms in tech where we each share our journeys of how we got into tech. In addition, some of the courses can be applied to ambitious career moms in general.

Is there a job board?

Our members do have the ability to post jobs from their company or roles they may be hiring for in a “job board” section of our community, but this is not a central feature in our community.

I’m a tech mom entrepreneur, should I join?

While our courses are not specific to starting your business, we have a thriving community of fellow tech moms here to cheer you on and motivate you. In addition, our content and courses will help you thrive in your career as the CEO of your company without burning out.

I’m not a mom yet, but I’m thinking about becoming one, should I join?

Certainly. You can get a taste for what working motherhood in tech is like or get support if you’re going through IVF while trying to hold down a career… a resource I wish I would have had when I went through it. Our courses will apply to helping you thrive in your career as well. Plus it will prepare you for the road ahead.

I’m an individual contributor, should I join?

Yep, you should! We’ll be releasing content to help you determine if a promotion is the right next step for you and if so, we’ll provide you with the exact steps we used to land our first manager role. Perhaps you don’t want to move into a leadership role yet and that’s okay. A ton of our content and courses will help you thrive no matter what level you’re at.

I’m a mid-level manager and/or executive, should I join?

Absolutely. This is one of the topics I’m most passionate about… people leadership and running an efficient team or department. In the future, we’ll be releasing a new, more expensive membership tier dedicated solely to managers and executives. If you sign up now, we’ll grandfather you in to receive all of the management and leadership courses we produce in the membership today before the new tier launches. Then you can decide yourself if you want to upgrade based on additional features in the higher tier. Regardless, we’ll remain committed to providing you with the management content we post in the membership before launching the new tier at no additional cost.

What if I don’t enjoy Tech Mom Collective?

We know you will LOVE Tech Mom Collective, however, if for whatever reason you’re not 100% satisfied in any way, we have a 7-day money-back guarantee (no questions asked). We want you to succeed and know that if you become a member of the Tech Mom Collective and really put in the effort to receive help and help other tech moms… you will see amazing results.

Can I get one-on-one help and support?

You have many options here. You can you ask questions and get advice, support and feedback any time from within our community, but we also run monthly Mom Hours where we do live Q&A and deep dive on topics specific to tech moms.

Is all of the content available straight away or is it drip released?

You’ll see lessons and content already posted in the membership and have access to those straight away. Additionally, we will drop new courses aligned to the success path each month, so you’ll have access to those as they become available. We regularly update and add new material too other than courses – so your content library will continue growing with audio files, checklists, processes, tools, quick wins, and workshops.

Are there in-person events or will I receive anything in the mail when I join?

No, the Tech Mom Collective is entirely online. We meet virtually on a monthly basis.

I don’t live in the US, should I join?

Absolutely. We’re a global membership community.

What happens if I decide to cancel my membership?

Obviously we’d love it if all of our members stuck around forever – but we know that’s not always the case especially with a changing economic environment. So, if you decide to cancel, we’ll be sad to see you go, but you can do so in just 2-clicks on your own.

Can I access the content in Tech Mom Collective if I cancel?

No. Your membership entitles you to enter the members area and access to the content and community during the duration of your membership. If you cancel or do not renew your membership, you will no longer be able to access content or the community.

Will my membership subscription price go up?

Once you lock in at your rate, your monthly subscription price will never go up. From time to time, we do raise the price of the membership, but rest assured, so long as you renew, you’ll stay at the rate you signed up with.

Can I upgrade to an annual membership later?

You sure can! You can upgrade to annual membership any time with a couple of clicks from your account page. Our system will automatically take into account the time left on your current subscription, so you’ll never be double charged either. However, you cannot upgrade to the lifetime license as that’s only being offered one time to founding members.

Do you have a referral program?

We certainly do. Shoot us an email with the name of the person you referred at support@techmomcollective and we’ll pay you $20 for every referral that stays more than 3 months or signs up for an annual membership without cancelling after 7 days.
